Serving as a Trustee is the primary reason Trustee Hill ran for and is running to be elected to this office. Trustee Hill has understood for many years that our Alumni Association has opportunities to improve deficiecies in operational procedures, leadership development, transparency, and effective govrnance for a non-profit. She understands the obligation of being a fiduciary and being a good steward of our assets. She has always been a committed partner who has offered her time and talents for the benefit of the Institution, the Association, our Alumni, and our students. She has had the courage to constructively challenge our alumni leaders while always offering a solution for navigating crisis, mitigating risk, and managing change. She has not been popular for this.
Leadership is not a popularity contest. There are no participation trophies and you can't cut and paste your way to proactive solutions for crisis readiness, governance knowledge, strategic oversight, and success-focused solutions. Here is the proposal she made to the CAUAA Board that was approved in August 2022 to create an "Ad Hoc Committee for Operational Integrity & Chapter Development." that was also presented to the National Body in December 2022 Fall National Meeting. These solutions won't happen overnight, and she looks forward to the continued work to get us on track to meet and exceed our potential as an organization. We owe it to the Institution, our alumni, and our students.
